The Wind Rises by Timothée de Fombelle

2.5

I learned a lot about the French slave trade and the Middle Passage, but judging as an actual novel, it wasn't great. Also thought I was reading an author of color only to find out toward the end (which I should have just googled beforehand) that the author is white. I don't know, it felt weird considering the narrative POVs.
