Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco

2.0

Before anything else, the series name is confusing, only the first book related and the rest are different.

Thomas: "What's that *faul scent*, it's aweful".

Rose:/sniffs the air/ I don't smell anything unusual.

Thomas: oh, nvm. it's simply your attitude, it *STINKS*.

[[MY FAVORITE lines of all.I wished there was more]]

Why Audrey Rose is the protagonist again???? Her cousin Liza would have made a MUCH better one.

"Why would he think I'd choose anyone else?" saying it too shocked.
I almost gagged, one of endless times throughout this book, especially the the *narrator did an awesome job!* at delivering the right tone.

I'm glad I didn't buy the paperback books but only audiobooks so I don't see them on my shelves, this very book. I tolerated two books because there were different things I liked, but this one? Nah.
Ngl I enjoyed lots of parts! The cards, the tricks, and all the show! [except caging animals]
are things I love but Audrey Rose's existence is sickening.

Toxic relationship!

As much I don't like Thomas at some parts I think he deserves an HONEST lover not a one who'd h** around with the excuse of "I'm trying to find the truth".
She hated the existence of his sister when she thought it was someone who he'd be interested in but gets pleading et here when he gets angry of seeing her hover with that supposedly charming man who she doesn't know anything about.

I don't even know why she was shocked that he treated her coldly at the end, despite his reason that he might be blaming himself
He gave her way too much credits and treated her not less but she acted lowely as if he'd never leave her.

If this was typical and they ended up together in the last book and it seems it'll be that way.. I'd make my own fanfiction tho I'm not a good writer and made him leave her. This is so toxic!!!

Oh Thomas! Why don't you let me make out with the ring master and stay quiet! We trying to find the truuuuuth.
I'd have been less frustrated if she actually felt guilty but she loved it and still accuse people of being "indecent" when she herself is far from that.
