I loved this book and absolutely recommend it. It is a novella, so there is not heavy world-building which did leave me wanting more but luckily it's a series so I'm excited to dive into the next one! What I have learned so far about the different worlds I find utterly fascinating, I only wish there was more time in this book to explore. Once I complete the series I'll see if I've changed my mind on this.

A word of caution, however, is I would encourage readers not to pick this up in close proximity to reading House in the Cerulean Sea. They are certainly unique and separate in their own ways, but having read them only a couple of months apart, I did find myself drawing many comparisons which tainted my experience slightly. They are both worth the read, but perhaps try and space them out so the memory of one is not so fresh when reading the next.
