The Third Wheel by Jeff Kinney

Ok, this book made me LOL I can’t believe it. Greg starts off explaining his memories in utero where he still has the unbelievable attitude he has in his grown years. He talks about his fear of finding Manny thing that’s on newborns belly buttons, his down bad uncle moves in, Greg treats Rowley AND Rowley’s dad horribly yet again, and there’s a description of a restaurant called Corny’s that a gross buffet spot his family frequents, and Greg describes his trouble babysitting where the kid locks Greg in his room and then falls down the stairs on his bike repeatedly. The parts that were getting me come from Greg and Rowley both going to this Valentine’s Day dance with some random girl named Abigail. Greg tries to act like Rowley’s dad who drives them to the dance is some hired driver, Rowley sits in a booster seat on their drive while Greg is in the trunk with a greasy vacuum cleaner that ruins his jacket, but the restaurant they go to requires sport jackets to be worn. They give Greg a loaner jacket that smells like BO and he tries to wash it in the bathroom only making it worse. They walk to Corny’s where their food is botched and Greg goes bankrupt because he tries to impress Abigail by paying. Rowley spits on his lip and Greg wipes his face on Abigail’s sleeve when she’s not looking. The dance is a major flop (as you’d assume) as it is crashed by senior citizens.
