A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
4.0

Despite this not being a "happy" book I greatly enjoyed it. The story is very raw, and Martin does not pull his punches as he describes the trials that the characters must face. The story is very well thought out and in 800 pages I did not find holes in the plot. The chapters are told from different characters view points giving the book a quality and readability that I find missing in other long novels. I forgot how consuming an epic fantasy can be, and found my self staying up well past bed time many a night to read just one more chapter. I love the direwolves~ They make the story for me.
