Listen For The Lie follows a young woman named Lucy Chase. She is believed to have killed her best friend five years ago, even though she can’t remember that night at all. Lucy must return to her home town to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday. While there, she must contend with a murder mystery podcaster named Ben who wants to get to the bottom of the murder of her friend.
This book is really well written. I liked how the author included first person accounts from Lucy, memories of Lucy from five years ago, and podcast interviews from various people around town. This is not a book I would typically pick up and I had a difficult time getting into it. I am glad that I stuck it out though. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending.
