Death Row
by Freida McFadden
When I saw this on Amazon First Reads, I snatched it up straight away! The concept sounded so interesting and was ready to see how Frieda would full her classic thrillery twists. But, in all honesty, it kind of disappointed. It was really great in the first half where you had to kind of decide in yourself whether she did it or not. I really liked the dual timelines and how this added depth and more background to the story. The pacing started off well too, but then it just got really fast and crazy and I literally had no clue what was going on. The ending confused the absolute hell out of me and I still don't understand what happened. I like my thrillers to give me most of the answers by the end, not leave me with way more questions than I signed up for. It just felt too rushed and honestly incomplete. Overall, it started off strong but the ending was just not something my head could wrap around!
