Wolf Hall
by Hilary Mantel
Magnificent and epic, "Wolf Hall" paints quite a different portrait of famed Tudor courtier Thomas Cromwell than as the stereotypical manipulator in the shadows. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and found that it held up to the hype surrounding it, and I look forward to watching the miniseries based upon it. I found some parts to be harder to get through than others where I couldn't put the book down; I loved Mantel's portrayal of King Henry VIII, but at times found the narrative difficult to read due to the constant use of the pronoun 'he'. Highly recommended for all who are interested in the Tudors and to all readers of historical fiction.
