The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart
by Holly Ringland
Beautifully written debut novel that follows Alice Hart starting when she’s a young child and dealing with her violent father up through adulthood when she starts to process her trauma. The poetic and whimsical writing made this feel like a fairytale, despite all the heartbreak and tragedy of Alice’s story. It was quite healing. I also absolutely loved all the nature descriptions and how flowers were a strong theme that tied everything together in a beautiful way.
