Annabel Monaghan is so good a writing characters with actual depth who REALLY get to know each other. I think this is why the romance feels so real and actually meaningful.
That being said, the 3rd act breakup in this book felt a little forced and I didn’t like it, though the full circle moment was really cute nonetheless.
