The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith

4.25

“When one makes a faerie bargain, one must be prepared to pay the price.”

This was a buddy read with 2 friends! It was so fun to read with them and now we will suffer together while waiting for the next book!! 😫 I was so intrigued about this one and thought it sounded so good so was glad it turned out to be the pick for the YA fairyloot box! The vibes of this book were so nice and I loved the regency elements in particular.
The whole idea of making a bargain with the fae queen was very intriguing to me and I was very invested in finding out what bargains people made and what they had to give up for them. The competition was not what it seemed 🫣 I enjoyed the twists a lot and couldn’t stop thinking of them 🫨
One thing I absolutely loved was getting to know the girls! It was so interesting to read about all of the ups and downs in their friendships. I love how all of them had different personalities without feeling forced. I always love reading about friendships so I was very happy to see this! Each of them got their own pov chapter which I just loved so much, it definitely helped me understand them all more!
This book has a love triangle and I did prefer one to the other but it was interesting to find out about them both. I think it would’ve been nice to see a few more scenes for me to feel fully invested in the romance as I did enjoy it but I feel like I could’ve loved it a lot more. The fairyloot bonus chapter definitely helped with this! Also it was interesting to read about the complex relationship between Ivy and her sister Lydia! I’m very excited for the next book to see how everything will turn out after that ending 👀
