Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks
2.0
I used to like Nicholas Sparks, and I have some friends who always give me a hard time for defending him at times. This was my first book I’ve read of his for awhile and… unfortunately, I think my friends are right. In high school and my early twenties I could get behind his work, but it’s so formulaic and unrealistic. I enjoyed the look at mental health disorders, but it was predictable. Ultimately, I couldn’t get past the idea that two people fell in love in such a short amount of time. That on top of the unrealistic rise to fame, meh…. I finished this book and wanted to throw it across the room. I’m just no longer the intended audience I suppose and I’m fine with that.
