Bought in an English bookshop in Kraków while interrailing, and holy shit reading this while actually travelling is an incredible experience.
As always I love Olga Tokarczuk’s writing, but I would say that this is slightly less accessible than a previous work of hers I’ve read (Drive Your Plow). I enjoyed some sections more than others, but the novel wouldn’t be the same without all of its moving parts, and the overarching themes woven throughout are enough to stay on your mind for days.
