The Best Of: January: Part Two

1. "The world is on fire. So we rush into the flames. We save the souls that we can."

2. Marina planting the seed of doubt in Natasha's head, or at least wondering about it: "Nat, where do you think it leads?" "What?" "All of this. The Red Room. Where do you think we will be in ten years? Twenty? Forty? Still doing espionage?" "I think we're along for the ride, Marina. I will serve the Red Room until they no longer need me." "Maybe we don't want to be. Maybe we want to pedal... to steer."

3. The very sad goodbye between Marina and Natasha.

4.
NO! NO! NO! NO! WHY DID NATASHA HAVE TO KILL MARINA! FUCK THE RED ROOM! I can definitely see how this makes her want to redeem herself, to wipe some of the red out of her ledger. Still, though, it was painful.

5. "Save those you can. Do good. Even if it's a fool's mission. It's something that we choose to do. Because we're heroes."

My only complaint about this issue (and I guess January Part One) is that we get no context on the mission to save the world or what the threat is. I would have liked to know a little more, but maybe the point was just to prove that Natasha has done it. She has redeemed herself. She's become a hero.
