There's a Dagger in Your Back
by Stacey Willis
I was lucky enough to read this as an ARC.
I’ll start by saying that I did enjoy this but it didn’t fully do it for me. Was sometimes confusing as to who’s point of view we were actually reading when both MCs were in the chapter as you’d still end up hearing both emotions and thoughts. I also got confused because names were rarely used and ‘she/ her’ or adjectives were used instead so sometimes lost who was doing what.
There were some grammatical/ spelling mistakes too but as I read the ARC I’m sure this is already a thing that has been looked at so not a big deal at all.
But finally, I did really enjoy the storyline and the relationship dynamics. For those of us attracted to multiple genders, we are not as represented as those who are one way or another and so it was really nice to have that present here.
So, enjoyed it, but I felt there was something lacking in the writing.
