Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
5.0

I went into this with as unbiased of an eye as I could. I heard a lot of good things, but I pushed it out of mind for fear that the hype was more due to love of Michelle Zauner's other artistic endeavor. I didn't need to, though. This book stands alone.

I won't lie, it was a treat to learn more about Zauner (as a fan of Japanese Breakfast), but it was genuinely more than that. This wasn't your typical "famous person writes a book about themselves." Anyone who loves food, loves someone, has experienced loss, etc. would get something out of this book. It made me hungry, it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me want to plan a weekend with my mom. (It also made me want to listen to Psychopomp again).
