House of Furies by Madeleine Roux

Oh. My. God. When I started this book, I was expecting something along the lines of Miss Peregrine - but I was delightfully surprised to find that it was more true Gothic, with creepy haunted houses and dark beings beyond comprehension. It's written so, so well - it's hard to not get sucked into this world, and once you do, it's hard to leave it! I do have to say that my favourite thing about it is the characters. They're all well developed and unique and realistic, and Mr. Morningside especially is so fun. I miss him whenever he's not in a scene. While the ending did feel a little rushed, I think it does a great job of opening the book up for more. I highly recommend this!
