The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
4.0
After learning about the Puritan settlers in history and then reading this book...
First I will say that I was expecting to hate it, and might have at first, because I heard and read that it was extremely boring.
But with my interest and little obtained knowledge on the history, I actually really loved this book. I didnt find the writing boring at all, and once the story got going i was extremely invested.
The symbolism in this novel was so impactful and meaningful, i felt a deep connection to the characters even though they were from the 18th century and so entirely different from me.
This is a classic in every sense of the word, completely intertwined with US history yet with a story that can captivate readers even today, even me.
