I’m a bit disappointed by this book. I just read the King of the dark series (twice because I love it so much) but this book wasn't on the same level. This book could've used a hundred more pages for some mood setting and extra banter and depth. There was some plot, but it didn't feel very substantial and I wish there were more conversations between Severn and Mikhail that didn't revolve about sex or attraction or love. I didn't quite believe in Severn’s and Mikhail’s connection. It felt too shallow, even though they’ve known eachother for 10 years prior to the start of this book. And I really missed some good side characters, there really weren’t any interesting ones. I think I will continue this series, but only because the ending of this book left me in pieces and I’m ready for the pain.
