The Measure by Nikki Erlick

5.0

The Measure is a stunning debut with a very powerful message! If it doesn’t make you consider how you’re living and evaluate how you treat (and show up for) others, I’m afraid no other book will.

Some of the social issues are discussed in passing. Almost like undertones of a message. Other are loud, in your face, and really make you think.

There are a lot of characters and the chapters are very short. There were moments early on where I wished each chapter was longer before switching to another point of view, but as the lives started to intersect, I enjoyed the shorter chapters immensely.

I didn’t think it was going to be possible to be surprised by the ending of this book, but I was. I was incredibly surprised in a beautiful way.
