Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch

1.0

Disappointing and boring. I usually love stories about southern girls who are a bit rebellious, but this was mostly terrible. The main character is not only unlikable, she is overly self pitying. The supporting characters are hardly supporting. I felt like names are just thrown out of no where. There is a part near/at the end where one of her "friends" has her own soliloquy about what is happening after her death. That really didn't make any sense in this book, but that was more interesting than the rest of the book.

There aren't many books that can make a southern girl seem more ridiculous than this one. By the title I thought there would be more trucks, more boys, more classic southern rule breaking.

I can, however, applaud the concept of raising young girls in the old fashioned way and letting them out into a more modern world. I can't help but wonder if the women would have been happier if they had taken the core values of their club to heart.
