The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

5.0

I downloaded the ebook of this while I was still half way through the first book and upon finishing the last page immediately continued with this one. Prior to reading I read a few reviews which implied that the sequel wasn’t as good and with an incredible first book, I was skeptical going into this one. I am glad to report that I was pleasantly surprised. This one was just as strong to me.

The first book ended with a twist that I was sure couldn’t be beaten and yet this one peeled back the layers like an onion. Reveals, twists, whiplash, phew it was a wild ride. I’ve heard people say they didn’t like the romance elements, but for me this was a nice touch. I liked all three Hawthorne brothers, but am firmly on Team Grayson.

I don’t know how I am going to be able to wait for the third book. I kind of wish I’d waited now until it was out. I guess I’ll just have to re-read the two again before August.
