this book was beautiful! (no joke that's the first word that came to mind!). such tenderness and emotion was captured in the writing (and having done that in a translation is incredible, i can't even imagine what it was like in the original language) and cuomo so wonderfully captured the intricacies and complexities in family relationships, with the greyness of each character being portrayed in a way that makes them wonderfully human. it was just so pretty to read and so moving in such a subtle way - definitely made me think of my own brother at times which is far more than i expected from a random selection!
