Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes

fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

2.0

if you’re looking for a book that focuses solely on Medusa, or deftly explores female rage, this isn’t the one.

prolific in its POVs, simplistic in its prose, anachronistic with its dialogue, Stone Blind gives you the highlights of what happened and why, often over-explaining itself when it comes to the later, and not much else. i finished this book wishing Medusa could have been the central character in her own story, instead of having that role constantly usurped by petty gods and their even pettier squabbles. but perhaps that was rather the point.
