Outline by Rachel Cusk
4.0

Without knowing having already read the third book of the trilogy – Kudos – I felt as if overpowered by the same eloquency in prose and technique. Would the writer as a character, so Faye, also be in such perfect control of her art? Again and again, one is befuddled with who is speaking – even as the most concise and relatable socio/psycho-logical tales absorb one to the bone. Plotless according to many, Outline in effect sketches what it is to be in a human relationship (within the Greek Western world). Perhaps a bit moralising at some points and even striking a couple of hardburned clichés, Rachel Cusk entices to outstanding prose, equally fresh and hard to unravel.
