Mothers Don't by Katixa Agirre

5.0

This is a dark novel about infanticide but one that is handled with intelligence and sensitivity.

At times it feels like something Helen Garner might pen if she blended her true crime with fiction. It's shocking and confronting, but it's also a fascinating insight into motherhood, the judicial system and the issues that confront writers who use true crime cases as subject matter.
