Insatiable by Leigh Rivers
4.0

Good start! 4.4/5 I was nervous about getting bored with a trilogy but this book was short enough to where I’m ready to start the next one. It’s rated this high since it’s like the start and it left me excited enough for more, not because I think it’s like a perfectly written book. Also it’s a dark romance so I take everything with a grain of salt. Rn it’s heavy in the miscommunication realm cuz Stacey won’t tell him what actually happened in the video he received of her “cheating” so I’m ready to hopefully learn what went down when he saw it. I love Kades lifelong obsession and how he can’t stay away even tho he wants to.

Spoiler:
Starts with Stacey asking her bff for a ride from her one night stand, but she sends Kade her twin brother to pick her up. We find out that Stacey and Kade secretly dated for a year (18/19) and were deeply in love and she even got pregnant, but the baby didn’t survive. They broke up because he saw a video of her cheating. We later find out she was drugged and gang raped in the video because her step brother Chris is abusive and obsessed with her, and still beats her in present day (21). After spiraling Kade was in the wrong place at the wrong time and is now an assassin and male prostitute by force because of his boss Bernadette and her husband Archie. Their group takes a trip to America to visit Kades father, Tobias who is a psychopath in a mental institute. There Stacey sees Kade kill people and they have sex again. She goes to visit Tobias because she’s scared for Kades safety since it seems he’s also on drugs and has a weirdly huge amount of money. After a bad night, he drunkenly calls her so she leaves the airport to find him. He soaks in time with her but that accidentally got them caught by his boss so now they have a mission to kill her since they always threaten him to complete his missions by using people he cares about. The last seen is him sending her off on a jet right as Bernadette’s team kills his workers and are about to enter the scene. They kiss for the first time since they broke up because she thinks it’s too intimate and wouldn’t let him kiss her.
