Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

Reread, January 2023: LOLing that my first review said I was exhausted by the relationship drama, because thinking about it now in context of Rose/Dimitri in the show has me like OM NOM NOM ANGST. PLEASE give me fraught conversations in various hotel rooms across the country (or…Europe on the show I guess?) whilst executing a series of escalating heists. I do hope they go a different direction with Adrian, if they still decide to do Rose/Adrian at all (and I’m guessing they will, with the “hello, little dhampir” line).

Anyway, I said I was going to read Bloodlines and then I didn’t, but I actually am this time!

Original review, September 2017: This whole series was a pretty solid like-but-not-love for me. I think the only thing that truly shocked me was the end of book 3, which I was not at all expecting, but I'm not sure if they payoff of that lived up to that shock. And by this book I was pretty exhausted by the relationship drama, mostly because love triangles where the outcome is 100% obvious always kind of exhaust me (but then, that's YA, and I'm not exactly in that demographic anymore, so that's on me, I guess). I did love Rose and Lissa's friendship, and I might pick up Bloodlines at some point.
