The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros
5.0

I absolutely balled like a fucking baby at the end. And not the sweet little shedding of a few tears, but full on snotty, sobbing mess.
With that said, this book was a beautiful but heart-wrenching story of a love that started during World War II in England and finishes in present day America. You follow the story of Scarlett and Jameson as they fall in love during the war, while simultaneously reading about her great-granddaughter in the present day mourning the loss of her great-grandmother, a divorce, and battling with an author who has been chosen to finish the one book her Gran could not - the story of her own love.
This book gave me a bit of anxiety to read, knowing that as I got closer to the end, I was getting closer to Noah and Georgia’s ending, but also getting closer to the heartbreak of Scarlett and Jameson’s.
Saying that, I absolutely loved it. The characters were absolutely loveable (except Damian) and they all felt so real.
I would 100% recommend but know that the ending will leave you shattered. I will be reading this again, but giving myself a long break to recover from the heartache (and give my tears time to replenish).
