Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

This is so bad. It is quasi-deep “poetry” that is really just a series of random, obvious sentences written in verse, like “i am a museum full of art but you had your eyes shut” or cliche advice like “you must enter a relationship with yourself before anyone else”. This seriously reads like a tweet, or an inspirational instagram post, but because it is written in verse somehow it’s poetry? I don’t say this often about something I read but I think most of us would be able to write something like this- it is not new, or different, or even that good. The one plus side is that it is a quick read.
