At first I found this to be incredibly overrated and just when I thought it would fall into the ‘good but not incredible / just not for me’ category it started to hit home for me in a lot more ways than I would have liked it to. So, overall I guess I was pleasantly but non-pleasingly surprised. Rooney’s writing in some passages is also nothing short of superb.
