Dava Shastri's Last Day
by Kirthana Ramisetti
Who hasn't wanted to do the Tom-Sawyer-at-his-own-funeral thing? When you're as rich as Dava Shastri, you can actually engineer something similar but (and this is a huge but) you can't control the narrative. Because dead. Nor can you control how your children react to said narrative. "They" say no one really knows their parents, and for the Shastri children, that's 100% true. The day their mother dies is also the day the world they knew dies... It does give readers pause if they've been wondering what people would say at their passing. (hint: all those secrets will come out. luckily, you'll be dead)
