Good Graces by Lesley Kagen

4.0

I'm giving this novel a 4 star-rating because it was fabulously written, though I was disturbed by the ending and liked it less when I finished than when I was in the midst of it.

My favorite aspect of Good Graces was the performance by the author on the audiobook. Her voice with its Wisconsin twang nearly sang its way through the story, completely capturing the height and depth of Sally O'Malley. I laughed time and time again at her 12 year-old perceptions of 1960, which honestly are what make this book so worth reading. But take my advice - listen the the audio version instead!
