Incarceron by Catherine Fisher

2.0

For me there was WAY too much going on with the world of Incarceron. It’s basically worlds within worlds and because it’s so expansive, it felt like it wasn’t fully developed to me. It seems like the author had too many ideas and couldn’t narrow it down to what Incarceron really is. The only thing that I did like about it (and for me the only memorable part of the book) was the forest made of metal. And that was a very small part of the book.
I would have been much happier just following Claudia in her world. I couldn’t get behind her love of the lost prince when they only met briefly in childhood and that was years ago. The whole time I was rooting for her to wake up and realize she loves her tutor!
