The political intrigue and mystery which drive Winter's Orbit's will leave the reader hooked. I was roped into the uncertainties faced by the main characters, Kiem & Jainan, as they tried to make sense of their situations (either in their political roles, personal relationship, or even solving a crime); their confusion followed by sunsequent discoveries formed a solid story. Maxwell neatly left clues that built up to an exciting resolution. The readers can also enjoy the simmer from the slow burn between the two clueless, but lovable husbands. You will find yourself being fond of them & how they treated each other. It was a sweet romance.

The supporting characters deserved attention themselves. While their primary roles relate to the MCs & the mystery, they could hold on their own; I'm especially loving Bel.

There's crime & political intrigued, depicted through two people in a slowly developing romantic relationship, all set in space. Winter's Orbit was a fun read.
