The Penderwicks in Spring by Jeanne Birdsall

5.0

I quite enjoyed this book in the series (so did my children, quite a bit also); the growth of the characters, the progression in their lives as they aged. It was a story full many emotions and hard choices, one that makes you wish you had a Nick Geiger who lived across from you also...I like how this book had more of a focus on Batty & Ben and seeing their relationship from when it first started in the previous book.

The only thing I'm not really keen on in this series is the lack of parenting; the parents really do seem to be caught up in their own work more than not. That being said there was a good part in this book with a parent apologizing which was a touching part to read.

In my opinion, Jeanne Birdsall did a wonderful job writing a series that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more!
