The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey by Celeste Lecesne

3.0

This was interesting..

The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey left me a bit confused. I think it's just how it ended for me.. because up until then I was all in it and completely invested. Especially when we get to see Leonard at such a young age. This kid was and is my spirit animal and I loved how he always stayed true to himself.

This book could have been amazing because it had so much potential. I mean it was about a hate crime and we get to fall in love with a character that we barely met. It almost had me in the palm of it's hands.. but then the ending came. Ugh, I wanted to like it but it just kind of ended weird for me. Which I get because these books are pretty short but maybe if it was a bit longer then the ending could've suckerpunched me in a good way? Maybe?

No idea. I did enjoy it though.
