The Book Club for Troublesome Women
by Marie Bostwick
It was…fine? I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters, though I did enjoy Viv and Bitsy. Overall it was definition vanilla. I think it was just a bit too clean for me - ok cool, you super easily got out of your unhappy marriages and the other marriages were either already perfect or became miraculously so? I wish it had been written to be a smidge more believable, but instead it only came across saccharine. It also barely mentioned segregation or the experiences of non-white women in this time period. Unfortunately, I think it missed the mark of what it was trying to do.
