Dance of Thieves leans heavily into the enemies-to-lovers romance trope, which was how I mainly saw this book being advertised by other readers. It's also a spinoff, and while it delivers as a romance the plot is definitely difficult to understand without having read the main series. It was comprehensible, but a lot of the worldbuilding probably went over my head and I didn't really care so much about the plot.
