Boy Parts by Eliza Clark
2.0

I would describe boy parts as remarkable, but only in its lack of consciousness. near the beginning of this novel, the protagonist (Irina) makes an unusual comment about white people and acknowledges she is white herself, and less than a page later she uses the phrase, the black women of white women, which I also found odd. Irina is exceedingly shallow which could be the point, but doesn’t come off well. the contents are obnoxious, but not artistic. clark’s writing in this falls flat similar to the shock value artists irina rips on. the plot wasn’t just engaging enough to keep you reading but not enough for you to enjoy it.
