Seven Days in June by Tia Williams

4.0

4 stars ⭐️ this is a book about SOULMATES - maybe more so than I have ever encountered before. Tia Williams has struck an amazing balance of writing love and pain (pain in many senses - literal, physical pain, and also emotional, traumatic pain) and how the two become intwined in a powerful way. Much of the retrospective narrative takes place in DC, which made it feel even more intimate, in some ways. I fell in love with each of the characters (especially Audre), who are complex but immeasurably likeable. Highly recommend!
