For some reason when I first started this book, everyone in my head spoke with a New Jersey accent, and because of the story being set in 1999 (I was eight by the way and have no real recolecction of the time) I thought i wouldn't connect with this book very much and thought I'd get through it but it wouldn't do much for me. Somewhere towards the middle, however, I got lost. The accents disappeared and I kept rooting for Lincoln to somehow find a way to win Beth over. I loved the geeky references of Lord of the Rings, D & D and Star Wars (it's very trendy for 2018) and I loved how this book surprised me. I kept thinking it was going to end a certain way and when the story shifted and as it did a reformed new theories about the ending, but the ending still surprised me and made my heart melt. This book was adorable.
