Murder Hooks a Mermaid by Christy Fifield

5.0

Cozy time of the year for me, ideally set in warm climates or warm seasons. This one fit the bill nicely. It's December here in Colorado...it's Spring Break in Florida in the book. Perfect.
I read the first in this series a while back and added Ms. Fifield's name to my author-to-look-for list on the WWBL. It's listed as Haunted Souvenir Shop Mystery, but it's very mildly paranormal cozy. There's a ghost and a parrot who channels the ghost. I love it.
Just enough paranormal, budding romance, someone to head-butt with, intriguingly wee bit quirky friends, nifty setting to make a very smooth read.
I think I had some of the whodunit figured out, but it did not deter from my enjoyment. I liked it a lot and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Definite recommend.
