This was a fun read. Chock full of 80s goodness, and a really beautiful portrait of friendship…if one can say that about a book about exorcism.

I’ve heard some people try to compare the 80s nostalgia to the likes of Ernest Cline and I just don’t think you can do so fairly; they’re completely different portrayals - one is a VR representation of 80s culture with a focus on very specific aspects of the decade (video games, movies, etc.) and this is more of the setting and environment giving the general vibe. Both good in their own right, just different.

There are some pretty gross descriptions of things as the possession progresses, but overall it was the most light-hearted exorcism I’ve ever been privy to…not that I’ve been privy to many. Or any. But you know what I mean.
