I am so happy that Nicholas Sparks decided to touch on this topic. Millions of stories about abuse go untold and I am grateful that a modern day story has given a face to the abused and abuser. I enjoy stories that have raw emotion because it allows readers to feel and live what the characters are experiencing. This book is a page turner on many different levels and i am happy that Nicholas is exploring his boundries and writing about difficult topics. This book is still a romance but at the same time so much more. I never thought Nicholas could top the masterpiece known as the notebook but this book lands in the top 2 for me in my list of favorite Nicholas Sparks books!
