Heathers meets murderous cults. I LOVED this book. It’s unhinged, surreal and weird in the BEST possible way. You literally never know what’s coming when you turn the page. The writing is really immersive and anxiety-inducing. I love the contrast between the raw, gross and sinister descriptions and the sickly-sweet cutesy vibes. It made the reading experience very unsettling. As an artist myself and someone who deals with deep feelings of loneliness, I felt very seen. This book nails the feeling of loneliness, the spiraling anxiety of trying to be “a good writer” and the suffocating pressure that comes from comparing yourself to others in a creative (elitist and pretentious) setting.
