Pretty as a Peach by Juliette Poe, Sawyer Bennett
4.0

When peach farmer and researcher Darby Culhane arrived in Whynot to start anew, she finds herself confronting Colt Mancinkus, the most gorgeous man she’s ever seen and the local farmer she’s competing against to get a grant. But before he can get too riled up, she comes up with a plan for both of them to get what they want which includes farming and a delicious slow burn pursuit of their attraction.

From the moment Colt and Darby meet, the pull is almost palpable. But as Darby is recently separated, in the process of getting divorced from a controlling cheater, and trying to find a foothold in her and her daughter’s new reality, Poe deliberately takes time to build Cold and Darby’s relationship at a pace that’s both realistic and appealing.

As their romance blooms, we get to meet these equally appealing characters. Colt is so endearing in his passion to save, help grow and keep alive his family’s legacy, and his magnetism, southern manners and appreciation of the smart and strong woman in undeniable sexy. Darby is a delight with her heart of gold and desire to be a good example to Linnie, her daughter, even though the road ahead of her isn’t easy.

Along with Colt and Darby’s romance, the charming town of Whynot with its fun and quirky townsfolk, and the lovely Mancinkus family bond put a smile on my face and compelled me to keep turning pages.

Sawyer delivers a novel filled with fun sweetness and touching community, familial and romantic love that provides an exceedingly satisfying happily-ever-after and a squee-inducing introduction to the next story.

Pretty as a Peach is book #4 of the Sex and Sweet Team series by Juliette Poe. It is a standalone contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happily ever after and epilogue.
