It felt like I was reading a fanfiction somewhere. The characters seemed pretty surface deep for the most part. And it felt super predictable. There was some nice phrasing and prose at points, but it was just lacking overall.
Plus the Boston setting just felt like a Find-All & Replace. The location, which is important to the story, didn't bring much if anything to the table. There were so many places where you could have easily brought in more aspects of Boston and the surrounding area to the story. If the city is that important to the characters, it should be important to the readers.
