A Royal Christmas Wedding by Rachel Hauck

5.0

Oh my goodness. I'd forgotten just how delightful the books in the Royal Wedding series are! They're like fairy tales grounded in reality. A Royal Christmas Wedding, which tells the story of Avery Truitt (sister of Susanna from Once Upon a Prince and A March Bride) and Prince Colin of Brighton, captivated me from the very first page.

This is a tale of love lost and found, and I enjoyed watching Colin and Avery work their way back to one another. The two have a palpable chemistry, and all of their interactions practically crackle with electricity.

Hauck likes to incorporate a touch of the supernatural into her books, and A Royal Christmas Wedding is no exception. In this case, God very clearly makes something happen that is a catalyst for everything else in the book. I love that touch—that acknowledgement that God is clearly behind Avery and Colin's relationship.

While I loved Avery and Colin's love story, my absolute favorite part of this novella is the epilogue, which so beautifully wraps up the stories from this series. It made me sigh happily and tear up a little! While I'd welcome another Royal Wedding story, if this is truly the end of Hauck's series, I'm satisfied ... and I'm ready to go back and read the whole series again!

Note: While this book is part of a series, each of the Royal Wedding novels can stand alone. So don't let the fact that this is book four in the series keep you from reading it!
