The Marble Queen
by Anna Kopp
Is this a perfect book? No. But it was intriguing, it was violent, it was romantic and came together for a very good time.
I really enjoyed the fighting, the fights happened so quickly with little fanfare. In real life if someone gets stabbed and doesn't get immediate medical attention they just die like that. There were some major character deaths, which really upped the stakes, you really didn't know who was safe. I wish we got to live in the grief of their passing for at least a page.
The world itself was very lived in. Each country had slightly different cultures, the lore itself is unique. I wish we could have gotten a longer series out of this rather than 1 stand alone.
If you like saphics and swordfighting I highly recommend.
